BrightStar Care Appleton and the Autism Society of the Fox Valley are pleased to present an Autism 101 Workshop. This will be a two session training for BrightStar Care staff, but parents, grandparents and caregivers are also welcome. The first session will include autism 101 information targeting myths and facts, autism statistics, characteristics and features, and strategies needed to increase communication. (July 23).
Session two will include: detailed sensory, communication and behavioral information and materials to increase communication while decreasing behaviors. (August 6).
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will learn basic characteristics and features of autism
- Participants will learn communication, sensory, and behavioral strategies for working with all ages
of individuals with ASD - Participants will interact with a wide variety of materials to increase their “toolbox” for working with individuals with autism.
